The Story
Amy and I met attending a wonderful Shabbat dinner at a friends house. For this, we have several people to thank (in no particular order):
- Minyan Merkaz - it was a Minyan Merkaz Hospitality Dinner
- Daila - who thankfully brought Amy along that evening
- Josh - who made my escorting Amy home that evening possible.
- Sara - who hosted the dinner that night making it all possible.
About a week after we first met, Amy and I met for coffee one night after work. We chatted for hours, but after what seemed like only moments to us, we found the employees sweeping the floors around us preparing to close. We couldn't stop talking or looking at each other. The chemistry was already obvious.
Amy and I started spending more time together... going on fantastic dates and adventures, cooking together, sharing our life stories and dreams, going to synagogue together, hanging out with family and friends and soon enough, talking about the future. It became obvious we were very much in love and to make things even better...wanted the same things out of life.
Then, Amy went on her (planned) trip to Egypt for two weeks. Instead of drifting apart, during that time we both saw even more how much we loved each other. I anxiously awaited each skype call (keeping my phone next to me at all times!) and Amy found herself looking for phones in every oasis in the desert to call home. The distance between us and the time spent apart helped us realize even more how much we wanted to share our lives with each other.
Not too long after Amy's return, I proposed and she said Yes... making me the happiest man in the world.
Amy, I love you more every day and can not wait to be under the Chupah with you.
